Aboriginal Organizations

Aboriginal Business Development Program. There are over 20,000 Aboriginal businesses in Canada, active in every sector of the economy. Since 1989, ABDP has worked with over 5,000 firms, providing financial and non-funded support. Link

NACCA. National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association is a formal organization dedicated to helping Aboriginal Capital Corporations provide new business services. Link

First Nations Bank of Canada. däna Näye Ventures, YIDC and Champagne Aishihik Trust continue to maintain their respective investments in the FNBC. They are rooted in the Aboriginal Capital Corporation movement. FNBC is committed to being a leader in providing progressive financial services to their client base. Link

CANDO. Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers is Aboriginal controlled, community based and membership driven. As a federally registered, non-profit society, CANDO has been instrumental in facilitating partnerships with EDO's, academics, Aboriginal leaders and senior corporate and government representatives. Government of Canada. This primary Internet site is the access point through which Internet users worldwide can obtain information about Canada, the Government of Canada and its programs, services and citizen initiatives. Link

Canada Business Network promotes entrepreneurship and innovation, and provides assistance through an organized network of service centres across Canada. There is a centre in each province and territory working with partners in many communities across their region, providing numerous service access points. The goal is to provide businesses with the resources needed to grow and prosper, including a wide range of information on government services, programs and regulations. This site can be filtered for the Yukon region.

Tourism Industry Services. The role of Industry Services is to support the creation, diversification and improvement of tourism products. It is their goal to enhance the visitor experience by supporting industry stakeholders on the journey through business development. They respond to industry needs by facilitating development methods such as education and training seminars, networking and project collaboration, and the communication of relevant and applicable information. In recognizing the value of tourism businesses in the territory, Industry Services makes it a priority to support initiatives that aim to represent the best interests of the industry. Link

Statistics Canada. Stats Canada's Web site provides for free and for fee economic, social and census data plus daily analysis of statistical releases. Link

YTG Statistics. This website presents publicly available statistical reports in PDF format with related Excel files (added as time permits). Reports are listed according to the frequency of their release. Only the most current copy is presented. Link
